Terms & Conditions

The following terms govern the relationship between Quanta Mind and learners who enrol in or enquire about our programmes. Please read them carefully before proceeding with an application.

Last updated: 8 April 2025

These Terms & Conditions constitute a binding agreement between Quanta Mind ("we", "us", or "the School") and any individual ("Learner" or "you") who submits an enquiry, applies for, or enrols in a programme. By completing the enrolment process, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.

1. Definitions

In these Terms, the following expressions carry the meanings assigned below unless the context requires otherwise:

  • Programme — any structured learning offering listed on the Quanta Mind website, including the Programme in Statistical Foundations for AI, the Short Programme in Reproducible Machine-Learning Practice, and the Seminar Series on Recent Directions in Machine Learning.
  • Cohort — the group of enrolled learners with whom sessions are shared during a given run of a programme.
  • Session — a scheduled synchronous or asynchronous learning activity forming part of the weekly rhythm of a programme.
  • Commencement Date — the date on which the first session of a programme cohort is scheduled to take place.
  • Programme Fee — the fee published at the time of enrolment for a given programme.

2. Enrolment

Enrolment in a Quanta Mind programme begins with the submission of an enquiry form. Following receipt of an enquiry, a member of the Quanta Mind team will be in contact to discuss the programme in more detail, share a sample syllabus and reading list, and confirm whether the programme is a suitable match for your current circumstances and preparation.

An offer of a place in a cohort is made at the sole discretion of Quanta Mind. No place is confirmed until we have issued a written confirmation and full payment of the Programme Fee has been received.

Cohort sizes are kept small — typically no more than twelve learners — in order to support focused discussion. Quanta Mind reserves the right to maintain enrolment limits and to defer an application to a subsequent cohort where capacity has been reached.

You are responsible for ensuring that you meet any preparation requirements described for the programme before the Commencement Date. These requirements are communicated during the enquiry and enrolment conversation.

3. Payment

The Programme Fee is stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) inclusive of applicable taxes, as required by Malaysian law. Payment is due in full prior to the Commencement Date unless a separate written arrangement has been agreed.

Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of enrolment. Quanta Mind does not store payment card details.

If payment is not received by the agreed date, Quanta Mind reserves the right to release your reserved place in the cohort to another applicant.

Where a programme is postponed or cancelled by Quanta Mind prior to the Commencement Date, a full refund of any fees already paid will be issued within fourteen (14) days.

4. Withdrawal & Refunds

We understand that circumstances can change. The following refund schedule applies to learner-initiated withdrawals:

  • Withdrawal before Week 1 commences: A full refund of the Programme Fee, less an administrative processing fee of RM 150.
  • Withdrawal before the end of Week 2: A partial refund of fifty percent (50%) of the Programme Fee.
  • Withdrawal from Week 3 onwards: No refund is available. The Programme Fee is retained in full.

All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. The date on which written notice is received by Quanta Mind determines which refund tier applies.

Where a learner is unable to continue due to a documented medical emergency, Quanta Mind will consider the circumstances on a case-by-case basis and may offer a deferred place in a future cohort at its discretion.

Refunds, where applicable, are processed within twenty-one (21) days of the written confirmation of withdrawal and are issued through the original payment method.

5. Programme Delivery

Quanta Mind programmes are delivered online. Session schedules, reading materials, and written exercises are shared with enrolled learners through the designated learning platform, details of which are provided ahead of the Commencement Date.

Quanta Mind makes reasonable efforts to deliver all sessions as scheduled. In the event that a session is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will endeavour to reschedule within the same cohort period or provide an equivalent written resource.

Consistent attendance and participation support the quality of the learning environment for all cohort members. While we recognise that occasional absences may arise, learners who miss a significant portion of sessions may not receive the full benefit of the programme. No reduction in fee is offered on account of sessions missed by the learner.

Quanta Mind does not issue formal qualifications, accredited certificates, or academic credentials upon completion. Our programmes are offered as a focused learning experience. A brief written acknowledgement of participation may be provided to learners who complete the full programme, upon request.

6. Learner Conduct

Quanta Mind operates under the expectation that all learners will engage with the programme and with fellow cohort members in a considered and respectful manner. Discussion is a central part of the learning experience and depends on an environment in which honest and civil exchange is possible.

The following are not consistent with participation in a Quanta Mind programme:

  • Conduct that is harassing, discriminatory, or disruptive to other cohort members or to programme facilitators.
  • Sharing session recordings, materials, or written feedback with individuals outside the cohort without written permission.
  • Submitting work that is not the learner's own in any context where individual effort is expected.
  • Use of programme materials for commercial purposes without prior written agreement.

Quanta Mind reserves the right to withdraw a learner from a programme for conduct that, in our reasonable assessment, is inconsistent with these expectations. In such cases, no refund of the Programme Fee will be made.

7. Intellectual Property

All programme materials — including syllabi, reading guides, written notes, session recordings, and exercises — are the intellectual property of Quanta Mind or of their respective authors and are provided to learners solely for personal study purposes within the scope of the programme.

Learners retain ownership of their own written work submitted as part of programme exercises. By participating, you grant Quanta Mind a limited, non-exclusive right to use anonymised excerpts of learner work for internal quality review and programme development purposes only.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property right from Quanta Mind to the learner, or vice versa, beyond what is stated here.

8. Limitation of Liability

Quanta Mind provides its programmes with reasonable care and in good faith. We do not warrant any particular outcome — professional, academic, or otherwise — as a result of participation in a programme.

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Quanta Mind's total liability to a learner in connection with a programme shall not exceed the Programme Fee paid by that learner for the programme in question.

Quanta Mind is not responsible for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from participation in a programme or from the use of programme materials.

9. Changes to These Terms

Quanta Mind may revise these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify enrolled learners by email at least fourteen (14) days before the revised Terms take effect. Continued participation in a programme after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

For prospective learners, the Terms in effect at the time of enrolment confirmation shall apply.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved through direct discussion, the parties agree to attempt mediation in good faith before commencing formal legal proceedings.

If you have a question about these Terms, or wish to raise a concern relating to your enrolment, you are welcome to write to us:
